"Underdog"
underdog: [a] a competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest [b] a person who has little status in society
Underdogs aren't supposed to win. Underdogs are overlooked. Time unmercifully buries underdogs every day. Yet, it is underdogs and their stories that often inspire us the most. Katniss Everdeen rose up from the ghetto of Panem to inspire a nation. Jeremy Lin, an a twice rejected Asian American basketball player, single-handedly lead the New York Knicks to a seven game win streak and rallied Asians all over the world. Yang Hak Seon, a Korean gymnast living in poverty (literally in a shack), won a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics against all odds.
This week, write a story about the theme "underdog".
