#50, Vacation
From May 3 to 8, PEAI will shut down for its annual one week break. The days of vacation are precious—a brief window of opportunity to explore the world, invigorate the spirit, and rest. I can remember each of my vacations in the recent past with distinct clarity, as that time carries such heavy significance.
In 2021 though, travel is restricted in a way none of us has experienced in our lifetimes. You must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR 72 hours before departure. You must be sure that the arrival country is currently accepting foreign travelers. And then upon return, you must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine. The dream getaway must remain in our dreams for the time being.
Once the restrictions are lifted though, it will just make that first trip even sweeter.
