#160, Trump
On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Donald John Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States. His victory was wholly unexpected and sent reverberations across the globe. The international community was unenthused about his win. Hillary Clinton had led in most polls leading up to election night with some experts putting her well above a 90% favorite to win the presidency. In the end though, Mr. Trump won the necessary 270 electoral votes and then some.
Mr. Trump, 70, started his career as a real estate developer and later found fame as a reality television show star. He is the very first President elected in U.S. history without any government or military experience. The next four years will be marked with great uncertainty.
