  • Complete Activities 4–5 (pp. 151–153) in Great Writing 5.

NOVEL (30+ min.)

  • Read chapters 5–6 in Animal Farm.

  • Address the following in full sentences in your reading notebook:

  1. Why does Napoleon start to meet with Mr. Whymper?

  2. Compare Snowball and Napoleon's opinions about the windmill.

  3. What happens at the Meeting to discuss the construction of the windmill?

  4. If animals do not do the “voluntary” work, what happens to them?

  5. What happens to the windmill at the end of chapter 6?

  • Read “Neil deGrasse Tyson on the Future of U.S. Space Exploration After Curiosity” (pp. 205–207) in myPerspectives.

  • Address the Base Word tasks on p. 205, 207 in the textbook or in your reading notebook.

  • Answer Comprehension Check questions 1–2 (p. 207) in full sentences in your reading notebook.

  • Complete Practice questions 1–3 (p. 209) and create a chart as the one shown in the textbook.
