The homework for classes from April 28 to May 2 is below. Next to each assignment is the recommended amount of time to complete it with proper quality.

We will play Kahoot in class to review the vocabulary for the summative test. If you’d like to play, please bring a device to class (e.g., laptop, tablet). This is optional.

  • Complete Hidden Message (pp. 143–145) in Wordly Wise 3000, Book 6.

  • Study for the summative test.

    • A PDF of the word list may be downloaded HERE.

PROJECT FAIR (40+ min.)

  • Respond to the District Survey example. https://forms.gle/R4qooRschM84qzZu7

  • Create your team’s District Survey on Google Forms http://forms.google.com. Share the survey with brendenleeteacher@gmail.com. Requirements:

    1. The survey starts with these 3 questions:

      1. Select your class. (BM1, BM2, BT1, BT2)

      2. Select your gender.

      3. Select your month of birth. (Jan. β†’ Dec.)

    2. 5 district-related questions with pictures

    3. 5 β€œdummy” questions (pictures optional)

      1. You may use the MBTI question as a dummy question. e.g., What is your personality type? introverted β€” extroverted

    4. Each answer should use a semantic differential scale (on Google Forms select Linear scale for the answer type)

NOVEL (30+ min.)

  • Read chapters 16–18 in The Hunger Games.

  • Address the following in full sentences in your reading notebook:

  1. How does the Career team booby trap the supplies?

  2. How does Katniss attack the Careers?

  3. How does Rue die?

  4. How does Katniss’s background in District 12 help her in the Games?

  5. What rule change do the Gamemakers enact at the end of Chapter 18?
