#249, Sow

Together we embark on a new journey. This is your fresh start—the person you were is no longer who you have to be. Tis the season of sowing seeds for the person you want to become.

This virtual space will be home to our community outside of the walls of PEAI and Room 4, our classroom. Here we will plant ideas, nurture them with thoughtful discussion, and watch our community flourish. Let us work together to build a welcoming, safe environment where we can all express ourselves freely and celebrate diversity of thought.

Every week a new journal entry will be posted by Friday morning. The Journal task is part of the day one homework assignment for the next week. At the end of each entry, there will be a series of questions or prompts that should be addressed. All responses should be a minimum of 100 words, but I encourage you to write more!

For the first planting of the Year of the Horse, we will start with the basics. To complete this Journal response, address the following:

  1. Write an introduction of yourself to your PEAI peers. Begin building your online self.

    • Journal responses should be 100+ words.

    • Leave your real name with your comment. Any comments without real names will be removed. You do not need to log in to post your response. After you type your response, click the “Post Comment” button and then just type your name. That’s it!

  2. Comment on a peer's response.

    • Bad: I agree with your comment.

    • Bad: You wrote a lot. Good job.

    • Good: Hi Wonchae, this is your friend (it is, right?) Daniel who is also in 6A-BTl. At the past, I thought that you were interested and skilled at eraser fights, but now I learned that you are also interested in the movie STARWARS. As you say, may the force be with you.

    • Good: Hey Zoe! It's X. I did not know that you can play that many sports! And I really didn't know that you can play many instruments! Also I totally get your fear, because speaking in front of people is really hard, and I didn't overcome it yet. But I think you can!!
