#172, Thankful

No man is an island
— John Donne

As we grow older, there is, for most of us, a desire to become more independent. We walk our first steps without the help of mom or dad. We eat our first bite of baby food awkwardly gripping a spoon. We put one foot through a pants leg and then the other. We sleep over at a friend's house away from home for the first time. One day, we move out and find our own place in the world. And though it may seem we have truly achieved independence, there are many people behind the scenes that have helped us along the way.

No man is an island.

As we enter the Chuseok holiday and the last quarter of the year, let’s look back and consider all we have to be grateful for close-up and zoomed out.
