#244, Curtains

One of the unique characteristics of PEAI is that classes stay together for a year. Not a school year with summer and winter breaks, but a full 365 days with the same peers and teacher. Working intimately with the same cohort breeds classroom culture. During each three hour block, values, beliefs, attitudes, and practices are gradually, collaboratively constructed and start to define each class. By December, though BM1, BM2, BT1, and BT2 are categorically sixth grade classes, each is uniquely its own and full of wonderful idiosyncrasies.

MOMMM // football v. soccer // Ariana Meow Vibes // Ice-cream, so good // Fiber // But is it though // thingy // PUSHUPS // Buffalo buffalo // Sssssss 🐍 // SHEESH // Chris P. After December 20, we will no longer be with one another physically. Some of you will continue your academic journey together in seventh grade. For others, your journey at PEAI will soon conclude. Our collective culture and memories, however, extend beyond the walls of Room 2 and throughout time and space.

To complete this Journal response, address the following:

  1. Two options:
    (1) Write a story about your journey at PEAI in sixth grade in the third person point of view. e.g., Once upon a time, a kid named Brenden walked through the doorway of Room 2…
    (2) Write a letter starting Dear PEAI,

    • OPTIONAL: Say your goodbyes 😢

  2. Comment on a peer’s response.
