#218, Arrival

108 days. That’s how long we’ve been away from PEAI. Since then, the Olympic Summer Games concluded, Chuseok came and went, and Korea survived the fourth wave of the pandemic. During this extended period, we have sat dutifully in front of our webcams twice a week to learn and teach from the safety of home while we wait for the right time to return.

And here it is. In accordance to the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Education, PEAI has adopted an on/off approach to in-person classes. To ensure we follow social distancing guidelines, grade 6 will go to PEAI for two weeks and then back to the virtual classroom for two weeks. This schedule will continue until the government eases social distancing guidelines.

The world is starting to shift to a live-with-COVID approach to the pandemic. COVID-19 is here to stay, like it or not, and we must deal with the reality of this fundamentally new world. Living in purgatory, stuck inside all day, just is not the best approach. There is real value in face-to-face interaction that is simply irreplaceable by technology of any form.

I am so excited to get back in the classroom and see you all 👊
