#182, Attire
Underneath all of our attire we are all the same pink fleshy lumps of bone and skin. Each day, we all choose to adorn ourselves in a particular combination of undergarments, shirts, and pants and everything in between. Then we accessorize with watches or glasses or any little thing the heart desires. Finally, we are ready to present ourselves to the world. Look upon me society; this is what I choose to wear today.
The morning ritual of dressing oneself is perhaps not as grandiose I've described, but it is one that very much reflects who we are. Every little detail in some way speaks about our preferences in comfort and style. Black is a common color for teens to wear in Korea. Is it because they so dearly love the darkness? Or does the color black symbolize something more meaningful to them? Not only what one chooses to wear, but how they choose to wear it also reflects upon them. Hats are increasingly commonplace in the streets of Seoul, but each person wears them in just their own way.
Next year, most of you will no longer have to go through the process of choosing what to wear in the morning. Some old men and women have already decided the exact outfit that you will wear each day. Nevertheless, you will wear it your own way and have a firmly grounded opinion on it. Let's share what you've come to know about yourself and your attire.
