#197, Peculiar

Once upon a time, there lived a group of unusual children. Unlike the coerlfolc they lived amongst, these youths were peculiar. Each girl and boy possessed a special ability that set them apart from the rest, a peculiarity if you will. Some envied their gifts, but most feared them. So, in order to protect themselves, they learned to keep their peculiarities hidden.

Every now and then, they would enter a hidden loop located in Seoul, Korea in the year 2019. The entrance went past an abandoned veterinary clinic and an evil robotics lab. Inside, they would gather in Room Eight for a few hours with crusty ol’ Mister Buttonquail (Mister Buttonquail kept a very neat room and was punctilious about rules—some believed him a robot himself). There, they could let their true colors shine. They were around peculiars like themselves, free of prejudice and judgment from the outside world. For just a few hours, they were remarkably, unremarkable.
