#177, Rise

Welcome 2018 Cohort! We are now in sixth week of our 52 week odyssey together. Up until this entry, we have been a community that shares a physical space for six hours a week. Now, our community will expand to a virtual space. Let us work together to build a welcoming, safe environment where we can all express ourselves freely and celebrate diversity of thought.

Every week a new journal entry will be posted on Thursday evening that is part of the day one (i.e., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) homework assignment for the next week. At the end of each entry, there will be a series of questions or prompts that should be addressed. All responses should be a minimum of 100 words, but I encourage you to write more.

For the first journal entry of the Year of the Dog, we will start with the basics. To complete this Journal,

1. Write an introduction of yourself to your PEAI peers. Start to build your online identity!
   • Leave your real name with your comment.
   • You may login as a guest or via Squarespace, Google+, Facebook, or Twitter to access your avatar.
2. Comment on a peer's response.
   • e.g., Hi Ellie!! I'm Y! Wow, it's cool that you've been to Czech Republic...
     Also, I like Gryffindor just like you!!! In the actual movie, Gryffindor was pretty cool....
     Oh, I also have a book to recommend! Have you read the book "The Girl who could Fly"?
     Its a cool story about a girl with special powers that makes her fly!
     Let's have a fun 6th grade, Bye~~
