#175, Thankful
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
-John Donne
As we grow older, there is, for most of us, a desire to become more independent. We walk our first steps without the help of mom and dad. We eat our first bite of delicious baby food awkwardly gripping a spoon. We put one foot through a pants leg and then the other. We sleep over at a friend's house away from home for the first time. One day, we move out and find our own place in the world. And though it may seem we have truly achieved independence, there are many people behind the scenes that have helped us along the way and continue to help us.
No man is an island.
As 2017 comes to a close, think back about a person who helped get through this year. Who was there for you when you needed them? Who pushed you to better yourself? Who gave a helping hand? Who inspired you? Who are you thankful for?
