#96, Salutations
The year at PEAI is informally divided into three terms. The first four months bring classes teeming with new faces. It is a time to adjust to a new learning environment, classmates, and teacher. Winter is a grind. The second four months are the summer lull. Some leave to go on adventures in foreign lands, others to camps, though the core of each class remains. It is during this time we work on mastery. The last third of the year is bittersweet. A few students will move classes and must leave good friends to find new ones. Others will join our class and/or PEAI for the first time.
When we return from the annual PEAI recess, several classes will have changed in character. The absence of one individual can have a significant influence on class. The rhythm and flow of our three hours together will be ever so slightly different. The mere physical presence of some people has noticeable impact. The addition of a new soul can do the same.
