#134, (x)

One of the unique characteristics of PEAI is that classes stay together for a year.  Not a school year with summer and winter breaks, but a full 365 days with the same peers and teacher.  Working intimately with the same cohort breeds classroom culture.  During each three hour block, values, beliefs, attitudes, and practices are gradually, collaboratively constructed and start to define each class.  By December, though BM1, BM2, BT1, and BT2 are categorically 6th grade classes, each is uniquely its own and full of wonderful idiosyncrasies.

democracy wave / SJJMAESWAB / watermeLON / “It’s all because of the butt.” / “I MADE YOU HUMAN” / “I NEED A GIRLFRIEND” / Cthulhu All-Spark McLoughlin / chocolate milk / “hen-RY!” / “Do you wanna buy the Prophet?” / “Twigs in my ddukbokki” / underwater incineratorrr♫ / “I see fish eggs!" / "Eu-nice" / shoosh shoosh / BOOM-BA / “It's a noun!" / Front Kong, Middle Kong / “We are not plants!” / Rosalina / CRAZY POWER / jambo / ya girl / "I AM FROM PLANET KRUMPET"

After December 15 and 16, we will no longer be with one another physically.  Our culture, however, extends beyond the pink walls of Room 4 and throughout time and space.

To complete this week's Journal response, complete the following tasks,

  1. Describe something you will miss or a fond memory from 2014 at PEAI.
  2. Say your goodbyes.
  3. Comment on one of your peers' responses.
  4. Stay in touch next year!
