  • Address the Close Read tasks on p. 127, 132, 139 in the textbook or in your reading notebook.

  • Annotate the text using a highlighter and pencil or pen:

    • Color 1: Resistance. Highlight moments where Harry Bittering fights a change, denies it, or tries to hold onto Earth.

      • Annotation (pencil/pen): What is he afraid of losing here?

    • Color 2: Surrender. Highlight moments where Bittering gives in, accepts the change, or lets go of Earth.
