  2. Select your gender.

    1. 5 district-related questions with pictures

  • Read chapters 13–15 in The Hunger Games.

  • Address the following in full sentences in your reading notebook:

  1. Katniss and Rue are competitors, but find themselves in an unlikely alliance as well. Find a moment in chapters 13–15 that shows their trust for one another. Include the page number. (1+ sentence).

  2. Think about an unexpected friendship or relationship in your life. Someone you did not expect to connect with. What made the connection unlikely and what did it teach you? (4+ sentences)

    • The vocabulary quiz will be done via Kahoot. All students will play individually. There will be 20 questions. Students without a device will take the quiz with paper and pencil.

Unit 2:

A Starry Home

  • Read Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed (pp. 127–140) in myPerspectives.

  • Address the Close Read tasks on p. 127, 132, 139 in the textbook or in your reading notebook.

  • Annotate the text using a highlighter (4+ minimum):

  1. Color 1: Curiosity. Highlight moments where Brock does something curious or unexpected despite the risk.

    • Annotation (pencil/pen): Why does he do it? What does it cost him?

  2. Color 2: Control. Highlight moments where the dome, its rules, voices, or people, tries to stop or limit Brock.

    • Annotation (pencil/pen): How does Brock respond? Does he comply or resist?
