    • If you did not write the Journal response in class, write it at home. Spend 15+ minutes to write the response. Any AI-generated text for this task violates PEAI policy.

PROJECT FAIR (30+ min.)

  • Complete the Project Fair Proposal Form. https://forms.gle/Pdrb2S3RZ6ixjJku7

    • Each team member must fill out the form.

  • Research your district and its industry. Write notes of 50+ words in your writing notebook.

  • Brainstorm 2+ ideas for a survival skill related to your district. Write notes, sketch pictures, create diagrams, etc. in your writing notebook.

NOVEL (30+ min.)

  • Read chapters 4–6 in The Hunger Games.

  • Address the following in full sentences in your reading notebook:

  1. Haymitch is a flawed mentor. He is often drunk, blunt, and ineffective in his “training.” Still, Katniss must work with him if she wants to survive. Find a moment in chapters 4–6 where you see something underneath his rough exterior. What does it tell you about who he might really be? Include the page number. (3+ sentences)

  2. Think about a mentor, coach, or teacher in your own life. Someone who helped you, even though they were flawed. What made them difficult to deal with? And what made it worth it? (4+ sentences)

  • Study for the quiz.

    • The vocabulary quiz will be done via Kahoot. All students will play individually. There will be 20 questions. Students without a device will take the quiz with paper and pencil.

GRAMMAR (15+ min.)

  • Complete the grammar packet (pp. 88–90) that was handed out in class. If you do not have it, please contact me via email.

READING (0 min.)

  • None

DEBATE (20+ min.)

  • Read the first three Key Grounds for Rebuttal (pp. 169–173) in Debating in the World Schools Style: A Guide. A PDF of the reading may be downloaded HERE.

  • Create an outline of each of the key grounds for rebuttal in your debate notebook. Each section should be 50 words or more.

    • Logical Irrelevance
