DAY ONE (10+ min.)

  • Read the class syllabus. Write 2 questions about the syllabus content on a sticky note and put it on the page(s) it is related to. A PDF of the syllabus may be downloaded HERE.

VOCABULARY (0 min.)

  • Bring in Wordly Wise 3000, Book 6.

WRITING (30+ min.)

  • Choose a photo from 2025 with you in it to share with class. You may choose any photo, but here are some ideas to inspire:

    • Hidden Story: an ordinary moment, but something that isn’t obvious is happening

    • An Important Person: a friend or family member that was important to you

    • Spaces: a place or building or room that matters to you

    • Hobby: sports, music, games or something else, what are you passionate about?

  • Share the photo in 1 of 3 ways: (a) share it via Google Drive (brendenleeteacher@gmail.com), (B) send it via email, (C) bring it to class on an Apple device with AirDrop or a USB drive.

  • Write a 150–250 word speech about the photo in your writing notebook. This must handwritten and the words must be counted precisely.
